Vitamin Study Flawed
There have been a lot of news releases recently regarding the “fact” that vitamins do not seem to confer any health benefits.
I came across this: “Women’s Multivitamin Study Seriously Flawed” and thought it might be of interest to those readers who take responsibility for their own health.
The author discusses how the study was conducted. No vitamins were used, there was no quality control, there was no measurement of consumption or dosage, and other lacks of impartiality which would make anyone sit up and take notice. So this was not a study in the scientific meaning of the word. It seems to me it was a survey rather than a study!
And yet this “scientific evidence” has been picked up and cited as gospel in many forms of media.
Remember: Check your facts and sources, don’t believe everything you read, think for yourself, and make the decisions that are right for you.

Really scary, isn’t it? There is enough anecdotal evidence for me to know that vitamins and supplements do help one to live a healthier lifestyle… I agree with your advice–read, read, and read some more!
In addition, it seems there is an affiliation with Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Since it did not go into depth, when I saw that, I wondered if this pharmaceutical had funded the study, or what?
And thanks for the link love. It is much appreciated.
Wow! Who knows what to believe now. I don’t take vitamins regularly I do prefer to get my nutrients from food, but I do take them once in a while when I think things are not going as well as they should.
