November 14th, 2008 by dmorton | Filed under General Health. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that with the low-fat diets of the last 30-odd years there has been an increase in MS and other neuro-degenerative myelin-related conditions? And allergies? And asthma? When I was a child, there was no asthma - we were just “wheezy”.
Essential fatty acids are just that - essential. So we need to consume an appropriate amount of “good” oils and fats either in our diets or by supplementation. I am not a dietitian or nutritionist, but some things are so self evident. That’s why butter, not margarine. Olive or rice bran oil. Fish. Avocado.
Everything in moderation, nothing in excess.
